5 Ways AI Is Helping Us Outperform on Meta

From ideation to iteration, these 5 AI plays are changing the way we build and scale creative.

Hey Friend!

There’s a lot of hype around AI in marketing right now, and a lot of noise. So this week, we wanted to quiet the buzz and show you exactly how we’re actually using it behind the scenes at Brick Social.

Here are 5 practical ways we’re integrating AI into our agency workflows to drive better performance for clients 👇

How To Use ChatGPT Like A Pro

If you want better outputs from ChatGPT, it starts with giving it better inputs.

Think of it like briefing a top tier creative: the more context, clarity, and constraints you provide, the stronger the result.

Whether you're generating ad copy, writing a video script, or exploring strategy ideas, your prompts should include the goal, the audience, the format, and any relevant examples or style preferences.

With just a bit of upfront guidance, ChatGPT can become an insanely effective creative and strategic partner.

1. 🎯 Creative Concepts, Fast

AI helps us generate dozens of ad angles in minutes. Whether we’re brainstorming fresh hooks or “us vs. them” style comparisons, it gives us a springboard to test fast and double down on what converts.

We leverage our Ad Variety Worksheet, which has hundreds of ad types for AI to think through for new ad concepts. Here’s what some of that input looks like:

When I then ask it for 3 concepts for our newsletter for ecommerce founders and CMOs it gave me this “Us vs Them” concept:

Quickly, we can adjust these as needed and use them as briefs for our editors to create images.

Bonus Tip: Use ChatGPT to make mockups of creative you want. This can help guide editors even more.

2. 📜 High Converting Video Scripts

We use AI to draft rough video scripts based on top-performing frameworks, then fine tune with our creative strategists. It lets us test different tones (funny vs. direct response) quickly while keeping messaging on brand.

If you have ads that are killing it already, feed ChatGPT the script as a high-performing ad example and ask it to write new scripts based on that. It’s great to feed it context too on who the new creator is, their bio, etc. to make it write a more relevant script for them.

You can even leverage AI to give you high-level overviews of video concepts. This is especially handy when you want a creator to talk more like themselves by giving them bullet points instead of a word-for-word script:

3. 🔍 Smarter Review Mining

Instead of skimming thousands of customer reviews manually, we use AI tools to summarize key pain points, benefits, and objections. That insight shapes everything from headlines to video voiceovers.

We leverage AI to come up with personas, jobs to be done, top pain points and top benefits. We also look into doubts people might have had with the brands products. We can then see if any site adjustments may need to be made to better match what we learn from previous customers.

You can also use reviews to pull new ideas for testimonial static ads that are usually worth testing.

Here’s a prompt you can steal for this:

“From the list of customer reviews I’ve provided, pull out the top 5 reviews that would be most impactful in a static ad targeting a cold audience.

Prioritize reviews that clearly highlight:
– A specific problem the product solved
– A surprising or emotional benefit
– A strong result or transformation
– Language that feels authentic and relatable (UGC-style)

Return each review along with a suggested short overlay quote and which ad type it best fits (e.g., Testimonial, Before & After, Objection-Busting).”

4. ✍️ Ad Copy Drafting & Refinement

We’ve trained AI to write in the tone of our agency and our clients. It gives us a first draft of headlines, body copy, and CTAs so we’re not starting from a blank doc. It’s faster and more consistent this way.

The key is to ensure you feed ChatGPT your brand’s tone. If you don’t have one you can simply ask it to analyze some of your writing and it can then tell you what it thinks it is and you can adjust it to create your brand voice document.

Here’s how it explains my brand voice:

Once you have your brand voice figured out, you then just need to feed ChatGPT some copy frameworks, ad specs (such as headline and body length you want) and your product info and audience and you’re good to go!

5. 🔁 Creative Iteration & Scaling

Once a top ad starts to win, AI helps us quickly brainstorm and launch variants. That includes copy tweaks, visual suggestions, and alternative hooks so we keep momentum going without burning out audiences.

Meta likes ad variety now more than ever. We often will use AI to help us figure out how we can add more variety into our ad accounts. We can use it to give us bigger variant suggestions to make Facebook happy with bigger differences between each ad.

Here are some high-level examples of how we could iterate:

  1. Copy Angle Shift: Reframe the message using new hooks like pain points, benefits, or authority to test different emotional triggers.

  2. Visual Format Swap: Keep the message but change the layout — like moving from split-screen to listicle or flatlay to bold text.

  3. Audience Segmentation: Tailor the creative for specific personas like founders, CMOs, or niche industry segments.

  4. Design A/Bs: Test variations in color, font, framing, and layout to see what visually drives more engagement. (Again, make sure this is noticeably different, not a tiny color shift for example.)

  5. Proof Variant: Swap in different trust elements like quotes, stats, review badges, or press mentions.

  6. Contextual Theme: Add seasonal or trend-based angles (e.g., Q4 urgency, “back in stock,” meme style) for timely relevance.

  7. Offer/CTA Variation: Change the call-to-action phrasing or value exchange to drive more clicks or signups.

The result?
More concepts to prioritize building, faster testing, tighter feedback loops, and more room for our strategists and editors to focus on what humans do best: empathy, taste, and big ideas.
